Note: For Spring 2014 season, age is based on the child’s age on March 1, 2014. Anyone who turned 16 during the Fall season can play in the Spring season. The 11/12 and 13-15 divisions may be combined if we do not have enough players for separate divisions.

Cost

  • All age groups: $100 (In the past, the fees for the Spring season have been lower but, now that Odell pays for the field maintenance, we need to charge the same fee as in the Fall.  We will provide full uniforms in the Spring for the first time.)
  • $5 discount for each additional registration per family
  • Included in cost:
    • Jersey, shorts and socks (players need to provide shin guards, ball and cleats)
    • Referees
    • Field/equipment maintenance (line paint, nets, balls)
    • Use of lights
    • Teams are responsible for snacks and trophies

Putting teams together

  • Odell Soccer uses an assessment procedure to put the teams together.  At the end of each season, all coaches are asked to rate the players on their rosters on a scale of 1 to 5 based on the skill level of each individual player.  A rating of 3 indicates a player of average skill.  A rating of 5 is above average and a rating of 1 is below average.  Any players registering in the Fall who do not have a coach’s rating from a previous season will receive a rating of 3.  Players will be allocated to the teams in each division so that the ratings of the players on each roster, when added together, will be fairly equal.  Each team should end up with roughly the same number of 5’s, 4’s, 3’s, etc.
  • As with prior seasons, we will attempt to accommodate coach requests, practice night requests and other special requests but it has become more difficult to do this and we cannot guarantee anything.
  • We will continue to try to make sure each team in an age group has the same number of girls, boys, younger kids and older kids.

Practices

  • Before games begin:  1 hour during week and 1 hour on Saturday
  • After games begin:  1 hour during week

Concessions

  • All teams will be required to work in the concession stand at least once (could be two or three times depending on number of teams in all sports) during the season.
